Driver
Role: To transport the Runner (another volunteer who delivers the meals) in your own vehicle or agency’s vehicle and to deliver nutritious meals safely to clients’ residences.
Qualifications: valid Canadian driver’s license, adequate (recommend C$2,000,000) automobile insurance, safe driving record, access to a reliable vehicle, physical strength to carry meal thermal bags, reliable and punctual, a friendly and outgoing attitude, and an interest in assisting older adults.
Time commitment: approximately 2 hours once a week for at least 3 months (approximately 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. for hot meals and 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. for frozen meals).
Note: gas reimbursement is provided.
Runner
Role: To safely deliver hot, nutritious meals to clients on your route; to provide a regular check on clients’ physical/mental condition; and to provide a safety check on clients.
Qualifications: a friendly, outgoing attitude; physical strength and stamina to manage large meal delivery routes; reliable and punctual; observant, vigilant and detail-oriented.
Time commitment: approximately 2 hours once a week for at least 3 months (approximately 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. for hot meals and 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. for frozen meals).
Pick-up Driver
Role: To pick up and transport meals from food supplier to office; sort and pack meals in meal containers.
Qualifications: valid Canadian driver’s license, adequate (recommend C$2,000,000) automobile insurance, safe driving record, access to a reliable vehicle, physical strength to carry meal thermal bags, reliable and punctual
Time commitment: approximately 2 hours once a week for at least 3 months (approximately from 10:30 a.m. – 11:30 p.m.)
Note:
gas reimbursement is provided.
Office Receptionist
Role: To serve as the agency office receptionist. 
Qualifications: a friendly, outgoing attitude and an interest in office work; reliable and punctual; fluent English language skills; pleasant and clear manner on the telephone; a self-starter who can easily pick-up new tasks (this person must sign a pledge of confidentiality form)
Time commitment: approximately 4 hours a week for at least 3 months from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Meal Services Helper
Role: To help sort and organize frozen food order and inventory.
Qualifications: ability to lift boxes weighing 15 pounds; attentive to details; basic math skills; ability to read and understand English.
Time commitment: approximately 1.5 hours a week for at least 3 months on Wednesday or Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m.
Kitchen Helper
Role: To organize and ensure the meal delivery bags are sanitized, sorted and stored properly and ready for the next day.
Qualifications: reliable and punctual
Time commitment: approximately 1.5 hours a week for at least 3 months on a weekday from 12:30 p.m. to 2 p.m.
